Our wood molding is available in a wide variety of wood species including ash, birch, Brazilian cherry, American cherry, hard maple, knotty pine, knotty alder, clear pine, poplar, hickory, mahogany, quartersawn oak, red oak, white oak and walnut. The high quality of our wood molding is a result of the premium hardwoods that are used. Only the highest quality hardwood boards are used in our wood molding. The lower quality boards are used to make shorter cabinet parts. The hardwood boards are first run through a 2-sided roughing planer which planes both faces down to approximately 1/4" oversize. The boards are then scanned on a computer scanner to determine how they can best be ripped for the sizes requested. Next, they are sent to a gang rip saw and crosscut saw where the boards are cut into molder- ready molding blanks. Six- head, high speed Weinig molders are used to create the beautiful molding profiles that you see on our online catalogue. Extremely high set-up tolerances and expertly sharpened molding knives give our molding a chatter-free smoothness that looks like every piece was hand sanded. We also offer circle or elliptical top curved moldings for all of our casing profiles. Custom moldings can be made to just about any profile imagined. Our molding shop also produces curved door jambs and casings for our arched doors.
